Business insurance

Your business rests on buildings, equipment, people and contracts. We study its risks with you and build a programme that keeps it standing, whatever happens.

What we insure in a business

Every business has its own risks. We start from what you do and where you do it, not from an off-the-shelf package.

Property and fire

Buildings, premises, machinery and stock, against fire, earthquake, flood and theft.

Business interruption

The income you lose and the fixed costs that keep running while the business stays closed after a loss.

Liability

General, employer’s, product, professional and construction liability, for damage that may be caused to third parties.

Group plans

Health, life and pension cover for your staff.

Your policy, in plain English

Four concepts that decide a claim payment

Underinsurance

When the sum insured is lower than the actual value, the claim payment is reduced proportionally, even for a small loss.

Example: Premises worth €400,000 insured for €200,000, loss of €100,000: the payment may be limited to €50,000.

Business interruption

Covers the gross profit lost while the business cannot operate after an insured loss, for an agreed period.

Example: A fire closes your warehouse for three months. The property damage is paid, but rent, salaries and lost sales are covered only with this cover.

Per-event and annual limit

Liability policies have a limit for each event and an overall limit for the whole year. Both must match the size of your risk.

Example: A limit of €300,000 per event and €600,000 per year: two large claims in the year are covered, the third is not.

Assignment to a bank

The policy is assigned to the bank that finances the business, so that after a loss the payment goes first towards repaying the loan.

Example: The bank requires fire and earthquake cover with a sum equal to the loan. We make sure your own needs are covered too, not only the bank’s.

Natural catastrophes: does the obligation apply to you?

For many businesses, insurance against earthquake, fire and flood is now mandatory. We check whether yours is included and what the cover must include.

Wherever you’re starting from

Insuring your business for the first time?

We start with a conversation and, where needed, a visit to your premises. We focus on three things:

  1. What has value: buildings, equipment, stock, data.
  2. What would stop your operations, and for how long.
  3. What banks, clients, contracts and tenders require from you.

Based on this, we give you a written proposal with the risks we identified and your options.

Already have policies?

We read them all together, as one programme. We often find sums insured that haven’t been updated for years, covers that overlap and gaps nobody had noticed.

We give you a written picture of what applies today and what we would change, with the cost of each change.

Business FAQ

How do I know which sum insured is right?

For buildings, what counts is the cost of rebuilding, not the market value. For equipment and stock, it’s the replacement value. We help you calculate it and update it every year.

Do I need liability cover if clients don’t visit my premises?

Most likely yes. Liability can arise from your products, your services, your employees or your work at other people’s premises.

What happens after a major loss?

We’re by your side from the first hour: what to do immediately, which documents are needed, coordination with the loss adjuster and follow-up until the claim is paid.
